TE AROHA CONTINUING EDUCATION

'The early history of Te Aroha's first farming families' - Local historian Peter Barker who will be talking about the very early history of the Te Aroha district and will mainly cover details of land transactions on the Western Aroha, and the stories which lie behind those transactions. In esscence it is the story of the process of establishing title to the land and the transactions between the Maori owners and the incoming run-holders, government men and speculators.

Afternoon tea will follow and we invite you to stay and enjoy a chat with those who attend. Join Peter in exploring their lives and see how many neighbours you recognise!!
