Waiorongomai Gold starts from the car park at the end of Waiorongomai Loop Road. The history of gold mining in the area has left a multitude of tracks offering a variety of loop walk alternatives that cater for all levels of fitness. 

These tracks follow historic horse pack tracks and mining access ways, including the Piako County Tramway, which has been restored and protected.  Information panels describe and illustrate the events of the past.

This walk will be a full day loop and have plenty of additional information provided by your knowledgeable guide.
