Share transport to the start at the Depot Garden in Tirohia, cycle the Hauraki Rail Trail across green pastures toward Te Aroha finishing at The old Tran Station for morning tea. The Rail Trail is wide and flat and the distance is approximately 13.5km.
The second leg is a walk around Howarth Memorial Wetlands, a wildlife reserve created in a disused former rubbish dump by the Waihou River and maintained by Fish and Game New Zealand. This walk is an enjoyable 4km around the perimeter of the wetlands and has an almost flat contour.
The final swim leg is at the Te Aroha Hot Pools where spending the entire time in the spa is perfectly acceptable! The cycle ride is suitable for children riding independently from age 8+.
