Te Aroha teens air concerns on TV
A teenage TV show filmed in Te Aroha goes to air next week.
Generation Why, filmed by SBI Productions for TV Central, covered topical issues for teens and young adults and included a panel debate.
Presenter Carlie Jackson said the film crew was blown away by the response from the teens for last month’s shoot. “It was a mindblowing experience.”
She thanked all the “amazing teens” who really put their hearts out there for the filming. “They really delivered and the show was a success because of them.”
Ms Jackson said they are looking at making 12 more episodes, subject to funding from NZ on Air which should be confirmed by early 2010. Many from the first shoot have already signed up for future episodes, she said.
The show airs on TV Central on December 14 (8pm), December 17 (5.30pm) and December 20 (10pm). DVDs will also be available from the broadcaster. For more information contact Carlie Jackson, email carlie@alphamedia.co.nz.
