Inetrested: Sue Waters checked out one of Annah Stretton's creations during a visit to Stretton Group's fashion design and publishing headquarters in Morrinsville on Monday. Gneral manager Tony Hope, second left, took the tour. At left Michael, with children Kyah, Shaynn (obscurred) and Zak.

Australian firefighter Sue Waters arrived in Piako on Saturday and says she does not want to leave.

"I am having so much fun. I have never known the children to go to bed so earlier because they are so tired at the end of the day. I don't want to go home."

Mrs Waters said her stay has been fantastic and the people are wonderful.

The Leonards Hill Fire Brigade captain was chosen from sister city Daylesford in Victoria - an area hit by bushfires earlier this year - to spend a week in Matamata-Piako. She said the things that have been planned for them to do is fantastic.

"Hugh (Vercoe) and Sandy (Barnes) have a done a marvellous job. We are having so much fun. The place is amazing."

Mrs Waters and her husband Michael, son Zakk and two daughters Shyann and Kyah spent the weekend at Mayor Hugh Vercoe's home in Tauhei. They went bungy jumping in Taupo on Sunday and visited the snow at Mt Ruapehu.

On Monday the family took a tour of the district visiting a number of places including the Te Aroha Domain, Te Aroha Fire Station, Inghams Enterprises in Waitoa, Fonterra and Annah Stretton Clothing in Morrinsville.

She said the tour of Annah Stretton Clothing in Morrinsville was amazing. "She is an amazing lady, her designs are gorgeous."

If Mrs Waters had to pick one part of the tour to be her favourite, she said it would have to be the scenic drive they took around the base of Mt Te Aroha.

"It was like I was looking at a big picture. It was so picturesque."

Yesterday, they visited the Hobbiton movie set in Matamata and Mrs Waters had a speaking engagement at the RSA.

The family have four more action pack days ahead of them. They will have morning tea with the council this morning at the council chambers in Te Aroha before they go gliding at Waharoa. "I am having so much fun".
